Mend John Deere L120 If Going Bad

How can I determine if pto clutch is going bad?

I have a 2003 L120. The pto switch went bad so i replaced it. After mowing about 50 feet, the new switch burned up. JD tells me it is the clutch causing the problem. Has anyone had this type of problem with their L120 and what is a fix?

The fix - unfortunately - is a new clutch unit. Not the cheapest fix, but cheaper than a new tractor.
