mb sprintshift sprinter?

My sprint shift won't stay in auto will at start then gets to 3gear and drops out of auto drives ok in manual has not got th same power

My 2003 sprintshift locks in gear when stopped unless it is put into neutral before stopping I spent 4700 on it now they saying needs new gearbox

my sprinter messed up, i got the interior washed when it got dirty and water got into the electrics under the seats, t wouldnt go in gear fater that so hadto change the pump and relay and ecu, it works ok now but gear changes arent tht smooth, i get crunching in the gears when the engine is cold once its warm its ok, to e honest the crunching has always been like that but since i had the new pumpin the crunchin got worse

hey guys, sorry to hear about your woes. i had the same problem on my sprinter. its caused by the relay that controls the hydraulic pump for changing gears. bosch superceeded the relay as it wasn't up to the job. on mine however i found out the hard way and have had my hydraulic pump replaced twice. the relay tends to make the pump pack up. it sounds like this has happened to both of your vehicles too. you might get away with just changing the relay, but i'd say your pump has had it too, sorry.

Did you get any answer to your question or did you find out a solution to the fault in the sprint shift gearbox ?

I´ve get exactely the same problem with my sprinter now so I´d be greatful if you could send me information from your experiences.
