Mend Sharp VC-H960 Working Years Sudden

Sharp VC-H960 VCR?

The VCR's been working fine for the past 4 years, but all of a sudden it won't turn on. Pressing any button on the machine makes the 'VCR' and recording light blink. I've tried to unplug and replug the machine, and the same thing happens. I can't track down a manual online either. Thanks in advance.

Really don't know this model but some thoughts occured to me..

1) Maybe the programme timer menu full, needs clearing?!
2) Maybe it's due to a faulty erase prevention switch?!
3) Another long shot..(has it been in a storage or a cold place?), maybe it's a dew/condensation warning?!

Then again... i'm just making educated guesses ;)

It could even be part of the units fault self-diagnostics.
