INDESIT WD12 - Spinning knob?

We have the above model of washer-dryer. We have turned it on today and the knob just keeps turning.

Is there any way to stop it's confusion?

Would be grateful for urgent assistance as my other half is getting stressed out!

Ours has been doing exactly the same thing for some time and I used the same solution, however, it's stopped working altogether now. Suspect it is the control module. Am trying to find a replacement on-line but no luck so far. Anyone know where I can find one?

We have this machine. Turn it off. Set the machine to stop, wait a few minutes and turn it back on at the cycle you require. We have had to do this several times before now.
