anti pollution fault,peugeot 307 110 hdi se sw?

hi,had a full service on my car (at a local garage)drove it for about 2 wks,no probs then took it for a 150 miles drive(motorways & country)rested it then started to drive home,engine management light came on but it drove fine(except for engine limiter)got home stopped car then started it antipollution message came up,been on ever since ..........any ideas on how to get rid of it without going to expensive dealers? thanks

I have a Peugeot 1.4 hdi 2004 and antipolution light came on limp mode too a few friends have some advice dating it can be something really silly like a bad injector or water in fuel filter I have yet checked this but will update I noticed my coolent is low so I'll start with that

As with many other Peugeot owners I have had the anti pollution fault flash up on numerous occasions. I have, in the past, cleared the fault using many of the usual and well known cures. The latest time however was not so simple. My 52 plate 307 2.0 hdi (177K miles) kept on flagging up this fault with all the usual symptoms. Nothing i had tried in the past seemed to clear the fault though, the fault seemed to be appering when i either accelerated or braked and while the anti pollution fault message didn't always come up on the display the annoying 3 bleeps always sounded and the engine light would flash up but not always stay illuminated, nor would the car go in to idle mode each time. Due to when the fault was appearing I had a feeling it might have been something to do with one of the fluid levels, even though i had no other warning lights on. I checked all the fluid levels and the coolant reservoir was a bit low, while i didn't have any coolant to hand i did have a sports bottle with a bit of water in, i squirted in the dregs of the bottle to top up the reservoir and hey presto......no more warning lights, annoying beeps or more importantly the dangerous idle mode. You have got to hand it to peugeot, their cars certainly have character!!

I have the anti pollution fault too.
My car was leaking water from the thermostat bleed valve so i placed a tyre valve cap over it to stop the leak.
this has stopped the leak but now i have the anti pollution fault.
I'm guessing its a faulty thermostat

i had this problem on a 207 turned out to be the sensor in the thermostat housing £20 on ebay had to clear code off ecu problem solved is a common fault i'm told hope this helps

I had the same thing last year - the light was on for months for no detectable reason. I changed the battery for the first time in the cars lifetime (100k miles) and the light went out - hasn't so much as flickered since!

I agree with "Peugeot master technician" Anti pollution error can be a blocked air cleaner, fuel filter, faulty oxygen sensors, particle filter, pressure sensor, EGR valve or just loose connectors. Spray all associated connectors with a Contact cleaner or solvent cleaner, replace filters and do basic service. Reset the Fault codes and test for at least 2 hours of continuous driving. Have the new fault codes diagnosed by at least 2 garages and stop using people who do not have a clue wat they are doing.

Anti pollution light on my 8 year old 307sw I'm enclined to keep tank full so I put £20 every wk aprox 180 miles a week . Light coming on a lot so about once a month a bottle of Wynns diesel cleaner in tank no problem since.Ihave also used injector cleaner engine runs better good luck . rocky blako

Hi, I have just had the same problem with my 307sw se on a 57 plate 69000 miles. Start your car build the revs up to maximum, run for 10 seconds and if like my car it solved the problem. I walked around to the back of my car and on the floor was an area of black soot from the exhaust! It seemed it just needed a good pull through!

The anti-pollution light came on and couldn't drive it above 3000 revs. I read all the forums and decided to drive at 3000 revs in 3rd gear at 50mph for ten minutes. After two minutes it cleared but I continued driving now at 4000 revs at 70mph still in 3rd gear. Everything is now ok and no light on. Diesels need the occasional thrash to clear the build up of soot in the system due to driving at low speeds.

Happened to me this morning, 207 1.6 sport hdi, from 2010, antipollution light on, and couldn't start the engine. My friend came by and boosted me, and got the car started. Took a little drive through the neighborhood before stopping it. Tried starting it again and had no problems. Antipollution light gone, though dash had reset itself so clock showed 00:00 and year 2007. Probably just a matter of changing the battery... Going now to local garage to measure potency of battery before buying a new one. Fingers crossed that's all it is! Good luck y'all!

I have had my peugeot 110 hdi se sw 2006 from new my local Peugeot dealer told me I needed my timing belt water pump tentioner changed at 30.000 miles at a cost of £495.00 since then I have had the pollution fault light on 4 times I seem to clear.it by reving engine high revs about 40 sec or drive in third gear high revs for about 3 miles & it usually works also check exhaust for leeks I think it is discussing that manufacturers got away with this pollution problem & clutch & dual plate Wich I got niose cumming 50.000 miles help!

Had the Anti-pollution fault come up on my 2004 (90,000 miles) Peugeot 307sw 1.6 HDi. 1. DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) removed by specialist garage £300 and engine remapped. 2. Checked diesel injectors - one was leaking and needed copper washer seal replacing. 3. Replaced diesel fuel filter. 2&3 cost me £40
Car now drives great with no faults. Happy days.

My cars engine management light came on spoke to 2 garages as my car is still under warranty and didn't want them to fob me off I was told, it is a filter in the engine that needs cleaning out but , before they took the car in asked me to run the car down motorway at gear 4 on 4000 thousand revs and will sort car out if not it will need replacing by the warranty.I was also told they can be cleaned replacements can be expensive ............

My engine light came on went to local garage my car still under warranty, was told as I don't thrash my car ther is a filter in engine that needs pulling through ie take car for a 30min drive down motorway at 4 thousand revs only up to 4 about 60 /70 miles per hour sorted problem "..........

Im not so proud owner of 307 110 hdi with antipollution fault . quick fix but not pernament ...clean the filter with jet and a bit of owen cleaner it works but mine last only few months if it last even shorter then probably your eloys liquid is not being added to the fuel so look for problem with add-on delivery. 2. Pernament solution drill through the filter or use chisel to get it out , buy on ebay .. Ecu flasher kwp 2000 or mpps , and flash it with stock version of software but without Fap

My peugeot 307sw hdi is a 2008 model i had it only a few weeks in october 2011 my mileage at the time was 63000 when the faulty anti pollution light came on, and it went into limp mode turning left on the busy A68 who was the daft person responsible, for developing such a thing that could have killed us,it was peak time traffic and cars were tooting the horns, my hazard lights were on as soon as i felt the car judder, we got the egr valve changed and i had no problems till this weekend 2 years on mileage 172000, faulty anti pollution message and E M LIGHT BACK ON been on the diagnosis machine now we think it may be a fault on the fuel pressure so investigating and will also check fuel filter

I had the same problem. I was fed up with the thing lighting up like a Christmas tree. Finally I got the injectors checked and one of them wasn't working. £30 got me a replacement on e-bay. Since it went in 6 months ago I've never had a light come on.....PEACE AT LAST.

The anti pollution fault is a pain in the backside. Luckily I have solved the problem. The air filter box drags its air from the front near side wheel arch. If it has been raining or if you have been to a drive through car wash the pipe upto the air filter box gets wet. If it has been raining for some time the air box can collect a fair amount of water and gets sucked into the engine. Believe me, I had ours three quarts full after a lashing down of water during our summer last year. The simple solution is to buy a induction air filter kit. This totally does away with the air box altogether and is neatly placed higher up in the engine bay well away from trouble. Pipercross are great and easy to fit K and N also do a kit and again is simple to fit. This will solve your anti pollution fault. To check get under your car and feel the air intake pipe if its sodden wet through this is your easy repair. We ran our 2.0 hdi for three more years and never had the problem again, to our knowledge the car is still going strong four years later !! Good luck.

I bought a 207 1.6 hdi gt and the engine management light came on and the car displayed antipollution system faulty, the car went in limpmode and would not rev above 2k. Anti pollution fault can mean numerous things, get your ecu hooked up to the computer at peugeot and they will diagnose the problem. Mine came on because my fuel filter was blocked and I had a new one fitted and the car is now running fine. You can try and fix this yourself but the fault could be any of 10 things. Hope this helps

mu pug hdi 2.0 had the anti pollution light on ands will not go over 2000 revs today ive also lost power and have had to leave it on the side of the road no warning signs this was going to happen. this seems to be a very common fault that needs fixing as its expensive to fix . theae are supposed to be family cars dont think id buy one again

Just bought this car last week (51 reg) and done 200 miles to get the diesel additive minimum level and the anti pollution fault. Fault still there but drives ok then then limp mode. Already cost me over £200 in 1st week of purchase, its driving me mad. What does everyone suggest.

I have a 307 1.4 petrol 04 plate Peugeot. Last night I got a "Anti pollution fault" display. The way I rectified this was:

1) I sometimes let the orange light come on my fuel - DON'T do this! Always make sure there is sufficient fuel in you car. I topped the fuel up and the fault light went off.

2) I topped up the tank with some Reddex Fuel Cleaning fluid

3) I then took the car for a 30 min drive down the motorway travelling at approx 60 mph for the duration.

This seemed to make the vehicle less sluggish and run more smoothly.

This may not work for everyone but it's certainly worth a try ;-)

I've seen on forums about 20 different things causing anti-pollution fault warning. I was going to buy a S/H 307SW 7seater until checking forums for info first, but this filter is only one fault! And ABS faults could also be caused by loadsa things. Loads more faults too, plus dual flywheel/clutch blowups etc etc etc. NO THANKS PEUGEOT! They must've built this car to make their dealers rich in repairs that don't work!!

A few months after picking up our used peugeot 307 (Diesel) whilst driving, the car started to register an "Anti pollution fault" on the interior screen, with a loss of power for a few seconds, then the power would come back on, without the need to stop.

Once the anti pollution message had gone from the screen, one of a few things would happen.

Passenger airbag would disable and light up on the dashboard
Engine management light on the dashboard would come on
All readings on the dashboard would go off and all the lights on the dashboard would start flashing, the speedo, fuel gauge, rev counter, would all go to zero, for about 20 seconds, then all would come back on and the passenger airbag would light up permanently
Once any one of these things happened, all the rear lights would start to play up. Brake lights would stay on permanently, then they would flicker, etc.
The boot door stopped locking, when ever all the doors were closed, the boot door would click and open again without the need for the handle to be used. Locking all doors then closing the boot would finally get it to close and lock.
On rare occasions, the accelerator pedal would lose all power with the engine on tick-over only.
Turning the engine off whilst parked for a few minutes then restarting the engine always rectified the faults, until the "anti pollution fault" message came on again.
It could be 50 miles down the road, it could be 2 miles, completely random.

You really couldn't make it up, I read peugeot websites/forums, googled questions about the peugeot 307, etc, all with no solution to the problem. We even paid auto electricians investigate.
As the anti pollution fault seemed to be the start of the problems, so my first plan of attack was good old redex. For about 3 tanks of diesel once added to fuel tank, this seemed to make things a little better, still the problem persisted.
Next, I changed all the bulbs in the rear lights, no joy there.
Next plan of attack was to have the fuel lines blown out. I was told that there are two fuel pumps on the peugeot 307s, one that works on low gears then switches to the other fuel pump for higher gears. I still don't know if this is true, but it was suggested that sometimes the higher gear fuel pump leaves tiny iron filings in the fuel lines.

Anti pollution fault was causing so much grief that we even started looking around to buy a different car. Once in a supermarket car park, I locked the car up and it turned the stereo of the peugeot next to us off.
The gent asked us to open and close the car again and sure enough it turned his factory fit radio off!

The fault was solved by a complete fluke.
On a drive up north, as I came off the good old A1, I heard a rattling noise. I pulled over to see the silencer/back box of the suspension hanging down tapping against the floor.
The RAC took off the back box, it had snapped just before it, on the mid pipe. I drove the car another 130 miles back without a problem, as the car goes into "Economy mode" actaully saving diesel on what it was using with the full suspension attached!
The peugeot 307 doesn't have clamps holding the exhaust system up, it is attached to the car via two rubber mounts. Welded rods on the back box push into these mounts. The side facing mount/bung had broken.

This revealed that where the pipe had come away had been corroded and with the corrosion facing the underside of the car, it was impossible to spot.
£40 outlay for a new mid pipe section and a new rubber bung later, we now considered with some urgency, selling the car and buying one "that works"

I drove out from the exhaust centre with a long trip to Liverpool due that afternoon.
The anti pollution fault? Gone!
The fault with the lights and the boot not closing etc, gone!
The engine management lights, the dashboard knocking off, the airbags deactivating, all appear to have gone! *Touch wood*

So if you have the "anti pollution fault" and various electrical faults on your peugeot 307, before you do anything else, get a garage to remove your exhaust from it's rubber bungs and check the underside, car facing part of your exhaust!

Chances are your exhaust is corroded somewhere and it is sucking in air causing the fault!

Hi, all the same probs, Antipollution etc etc. Car goes to safe mode.
My fault code refers to low fuel rail pressure. Lots of talk replacing pumps LP and HP.
I have adopted a different angle of VOLTAGE MANAGEMENT. Apparently the computor doesnt like low voltage and so turns off unimportant circuits like Air con. (first early warning for my car).Unfortunatly it seems to interrupt the electric fuel pump as well thus giving an immediate loss of engine power and good help you if you are in the fast lane at the time. No steering, breaks and a dead engine.
After fighting with the dealers (I live in France and they dont have a clue, Useless chocolate teapots!)and the garages. So I went it alone.
I have changed the Battery.
All major crisies have gone but occassionally I get slight glitches, AC drops off, electric steering motor is cut off, Just after start up . It settles down after a few minutes when the load stabilises.
I am searching for poor electrics now, Things are much better and I believe that this all leads back to voltage levels. The Alternator is still pushing out 14.3 but maybe under full load if the design spec is wrong, maybe it struggles. Its difficult to measure whilst driving. (I asked the wife but no room under the bonnet). I am sure I will find the final link. If I can get a curcuit diagram and a management system brief it will be quicker. 0033494764234

I would not recommend trying to do DIY on the FAP fluid change and filter. The stuff is dangerous and toxic. Spraying Mr Muscle and doing a pressure wash? My God, there are some fools out there! My 307 has had it changed 3 times in 180000 miles, 4th time due. Costs about £200 each time. This technology is not exclusive to Peugeots and I would guess will become more common on diesel cars. I'm going back to petrol or hybrid petrol/elec next time! Diesel has had its day I think.

'anti pollution fault' warning came up & engine management light on dash, no loss of power & drives fine ...tried new air filter & redex with a 30 min motorway blast, no change, light still on & warning still there .... tried resetting engine management (ignition off, press trip button in, turn on igniton, hold in for 10 seconds & watch counter on dash reset to zero), still no joy. Being a 2001 model my particulate filter wont split for cleaning.
Sent an e-mail to DPFdeletion.com, based in birmingham, they run a full diagnostic, remove the filter & remap for 299, seems a cheaper option than a new filter. will post result.

my husband has a 307 2003 model. We have been given sum diesel cleaner and told to run it at 3.5 revs for 15 mins but the engines wont get to get that, Has any one got any ideas please.

Hi, I've been trying to find a cure to this problem with the Peugeot 307 range, and can't see that we can simply fix it. So what I did was to contact bbc.co.ukwatchdog I would strongly advise that anyone with this problem should drop them a line on, my story. The more of us to complain the more pressure is put on Peugeot to sort it out. Take a few minutes to tell them about it and with a little luck our Government will get Peugeot to recall our unfixable faulty cars.

Hi most off the time you will get ridden of this problem with get in the motor way and put your foot down for 30 or so miles ,that type off engines aren`t good for low speeds and small trips.I only had once that problem with my c5 2.2hdi when I purchased it,and never again after all I AM one off the called "speeders".

Had a 207cc turbo 150bhp, Anti pollution filter came on, lost power in fast lane on M62. New timing belt then same prob again. Advised by garage to get shut. Common fault with DPF. Colleague at work got same problem. We swapped it and Bought a Freelander 2. Never had a problem. Wont buy Peugeot ever again!

Australian government made Peugeot recall the faulty 307 range, we have been badly let down by our government. Peugeot have been made aware of the 307 faults but seem to turn a blind eye to them. I don't think there are any quick fix solution to these problems.

It seems that the Engine Management System on these cars has a mind of it's own. We are all having "anti pollution fault" messages but all with different solutions.

Peugeot don't even know how to solve it, and sticking it on their computer and "re-generating" it just seems to confuse the matter.

I think it's a case of C'est La Vie - we've been conned. I know I won't buy Peugeot again!

Showing depolloution system light had various fault code, has had a new egr valve, fuel filter and map sensor and is still the same, Car will sometimes accelerate ok and other times holds back as if starved of fuel (dont think it is just best describes it ) and when trying to drive at constant speed the car jerks again as if lack of fuel, fault code now says overboost ... any ideas??..... im going mad!!!!!!

Hi I was told if you remove the particle filter and spray mr muscle oven cleaner into it then clean it out with a preasure washer this will decarbonise it.

Remove the pdf/cat filter from the car,undo the four bolts that jion the cat to the pdf filter, carefully remove the ceramic filter from inside the housing.Re connect to the cat,half crush the rear steal pipe that goes back up to the pressure sensor to re stict the flow fooling the sensor.clear the faults from obd and road test if computer message says pdf punctured crush pipe a little more if says blocked you crushed to much, mine was about 1/2 crushed and now fine.

hi ive got a peugeut 307 1600hdi,im on my 3rd turbo,ive been told to get rid of it ,its cost me about £2000 so far,they say peugeut 1600hdi are bad,they wont admit it becouse it will cost them millions to call them back,ive only had it for a year,will never ever touch peugeot again,its in the garage now for a turbo,

hi all i had anti pollution warning light come on and engine management light peugeot main dealer told me turbo had gone spoke to a local macanic and he told me its the dpf filter inside the box in the eghust system i have had this taken out and had engine reprogramed and it runs fine 74 mpg now at 3000 revs on motor way doing 90 mph great best thing i done £500 all in cracking job

I too had same problem since i changed my alternater on my Citroen C5 HDI 110hp Diesel,also with Limp home mode coming on and off,then today i also had,oil low warning i have now topped up my oil and no more warning light at the moment.Before spending loads of money check oil level and top up if needed,as this may trip the computer giving warning to anti-poll warning.

hi i am a mechanic. done a 307 today. anti polution message on dash. going into limp mode etc etc. there is a tank near side rear underneath behind gaurd. fluid from peugeot 120.00 for 3 liters with pipe an connectors to re fill tank. run the vehicle for a few miles. put snap on scanner on vehicle .it asked me if tank had been filled then asked if i wanted system remapped. i just pressed yes and yes. customer has picked up car and give it a good run on motorway. glad to say no faults have come up. but you never know .???? hope i may have helped some one

i own an 206 1.6 hdi 110 bhp and have just been through all of this . car came up with unblock diesel filter so checked codes that came up , (and there were plenty) and doing alot of research i found out all about the particulate filter ( fap) and how it all works. i decided cos car is old 54 plate that it wasnt worth fixing properly as there are too many things that could need replacing so i went down the road of having the dpf software removed/modified to allow me to remove the filter without car throwing a wobbler or going into limp mode.This cannot be done by any tomdick on there drive to try and fool system. There are companies out there now offering this service for alot of cars with dpfs on them , on the 206 it was an easy job to remove the dpf ( about 1 hr job and about 1hr to remove the inards of the filter) car performs much better ( guy that did it also gave it a bit of a remap ( no extra cost) at the same time), so no more dpf clogging or problems, it stops the additive being injected etc so no need to worry about expensive refills either, my mate is a mechanic and says it will still pass mot due to the fact they only do a smoke test on diesels and not a particle test as older diesels dont have dpfs on them . the only problem i do have ( and this is not related to the dpf as it used to happen before ) sometimes when i boot car anti pollution fault comes up and engine light comes on, theres no loss of power or anything and it goes out after about 15 miles , have changed turbo solenoid valve, map sensor, and variable vain mech works fine but it still happens , somebody told me it could just be a spike in turbo pressure thats just going over map sensor ( or turbo may be on its way out ) looks like ill just have to live with it.

Mine has intermittent engine management light on with Anti Pollution Fault warning coming up.
After taking it have having the turbo sensor replaced and another sensor it still comes up with the same fault.
Further investigation has come up with the particle filter blocked and that replacement along with the additive will be about £630.
This puts alot of pressure on the engine I am told and you need to make sure the timing belt has been replaced at the correct times.

I have had a problem with a warning light appearing referring to particulate filter and vehicle going into limp mode. I've been told by an independent Peugeot repair centre it should not be ignored because it will create problems with the turbo and possibly be catastrophic. Has anyone been faced with a similiar problem and should it be taken seriously?

If you have a FAP your exhaust silencer box has two silver pressure sensing pipes. The box is in 2 sections and the longer section is the FAP. The pressures I am told go by black rubber tubes to a Differential Pressure Transducer under the battery box.
If you get T pieces fitted to the rubber tube extensions the actual pressure built up by FAP clogging can be measured, at about 7psi and hopefully much less. The tail end pressure is of course less.
Both pressures have to be sensed and "coherent" or the brainbox will detect a piping break and cause woeful alarms. You should measure pressures under full road conditions.
If a FAP or the exhaust further back is well blocked a really high excess back pressure can blow away the delicate Differential sensor and cost £80 +++. It is also possible to destroy it by blowing air into the tubes .
It is a 3 hour job to remove the box with FAP , crack open and inspect. You will see buff coloured ash rather than soot if working OK . If very sooty the Regen system is not working.
The FAP element is Silicon Carbide , treat it as a brittle glass sponge.
The ash is probably Cerium Oxide, found in many soils.
It is not deadly poisonous but will be ultrafine particles WHICH YOU MUST NOT INHALE OR EXPOSE TO OTHER PERSONS.
It is probably on a par with Garage Floor Waste and should be disposed of the same way.
The FAP element cleans well with detergent and repeated water flushes. Dry thoroughly before reinstalling to protect the sensors.
You will have in no way interfered with the computer system, and have removed a vital business opportunity from main service stations.
The Cerium fuel additive is a catalyst which makes it possible to ignite soot at the 307`s low exhaust temperatures. The computer occasionally senses the need ( somehow)and over-fuels the engine to superheat the FAP.
I think a lot of warnings come from air pollution, salt and damp attacking the multiple wiring loom connections. I avoid wading through floods and pressure washing the machinery.
Also as old age kicks in I suspect that bad earths to chassis, rear lights, so on , inject bad voltages into the system. The temporary repairs produced by the trade are likely to be due to disturbance and re-connection of dirty multipole connectors which reoffend within the week.

Why are so many of us unfortunate peugeot 307 owners having the same problem? My 2004 307 2.0 HDI XSI came up with Anti Pollution fault yesterday. At first it limmited my revs, but after i had stopped car for 10 mins it still had fault but didn't limit revs? I put premium diesel in it and some Red X and fault cleared as soon as i started it up. Unfortunately though it has just come back again. I have noticed though that lately the oil level warning gauge has been fluctuating recently, from appearing to be needing top up to full? Upon actually checking the oil, it does need a top up. Could his be linked in any way? Either way, i expect a trip to the garage. Surely though, there is clearlly a major fault with these cars, especially when dealerships are throwing all sorts of random parts on these cars at a huge cost to the customer and 8/10 times not actually fixing the problem. Will never ever buy another one, although had mine now for 2 years without any other issues.

same problem on my car last week the diagnosic light, and anti pollution light come on and i put more oil in it and it went away. 4 days later it returned so put a drop more oil in engine and light gone of again so try this good luck!

can someone help me please,i just wanted to change the oil and then found out if you have a fap the oil is differant than if you dont so started to have alook around on the web to see how you know if you have a fap ???? i have a 2004 2.0 hdi s 90 307 and dont even no if i have this fap thing in the 1st place,rang a few dealers and they just said put 10/40 in it ,it will be fine,but i still dont know ther answer,so does anyone on here know what to look for to see if i have a fap or not,cheers guys,i only wanted to change the oil and now i have all this on my mind about the probs you guys have had, ; )

redx and its gone 3.99 cheap fix worked 4 times for me. always put redx before long drives a guy told me this who had a 307/01 from new and it worked

just had a turbo and oil feed pipe fitted to my 1.6 16v 307 hdi estate and spent nearly £600 quid and i dont want another large bill, and now the anti-pollution light has come on and its very sluggish to drive. any ideas?????

I've got a 307 HDI 02 plate, 2 years ago had the same warning (and rev limiter) along with ABS/EPS amber warning. Turned out to be a new brake management system along with the turbo sensor = £1400.00 repair bill!!! Ironically the reason i'm looking on here is because the same thing is happening again albeit the anti pollution warning is a bit intermitent and the rev limiter only kicks in when doing in excess of 50 mph. It seems to correct itself if left for half hour or so but kicks in again within 10 miles. In short its now booked in for a diagnostics check (which in itself seems daft, 3 dealerships and range from £50 to £90). In case you're wondering why I'm going to a dealership as oppose to a local reputable garage is the repair I had done 2 years ago, no local garage wanted to do it because of what was involved. Doesn't answer your question but thought I'd mention my issues. If its the same again it's going to rot on my driveway despite 1 year guarantees I'm not paying another £1400 for a part thats lasted 2 years and 26000 miles!

same prob on my 03 307 110 hdi with 125000 miles on clock, diesel additive light pops up intermitedly and when i go over 90 mph anti pollution light comes on with the engine management light .car then goes into limp mode ,but resets its self after i restart engine bout 10 mins later .proper head doer ??

I have the same problem with my pug 307 sw 1.6 hdi 110 on a 04 plate,the anti pollution fault warning comes on every time i switch on ignition on,and the engine management is on amber colour also took it to a mechanic today he put a fault reader on it,came up with 3 errors number one was mass metre problem,didnt say wether it devated up or down,no2 said unknown error code 9012 and no 3 error code unknown 2408,as anyone come across these unknown error codes before,if so could you please let me know what they are,cheers mark

got 307 hdi 136, had loss of power then anti polution fault came up with engine managment light. Took it to my local dealer who cleared the fault and told me it could be a number of things from the partical filter to turbo sensor or solinod and a bunch of other things.I brought the car home and the fault re appeared but has since cleared itself again. anybody any cloo cause the dealer dosnt seem to no ?

hey i had exact same problem, took it garages and they were around 500 pound fixing it, garages were saying to me change Catalytic Converter etc, and sensors were playing i was shocked because i bought the car new, 1 of my friend told me that the car's air filter must have been dirty i looked and he was right so i changed the air filter and went to garage to reset the light cost altogether 40pound, 10pound filter 30pound diagnostic light reset. The car is now fine!!

Just to say I have 06 reg 307 HDi 136bhp.
the particle warning comes and goes together with engine management light .took it to the main dealer
they rang me and said "this is a danger "drive home at your own risk " would cost £450 would not put it writing .
As the light was not on.I said "yeh right cant afford it "
and collected the car , since then the warning appears sometimes and the car has just come up to k100

it is correct that the 136 does have a seperate fuel addative tank, it holds approx 5L and is attached to the fuel tank, you can fill this yourself via a filling loop supplied with the addative. At speeds of 30mph for 10min or more addative is injected into the particulate filter incorperated in the exhaust system and clears this of any build up of soot

have a 4 year old (2005), peugoet 1.6 hdi with 72k on the clock, now comes up with message RISK OF PARTICLE BLOCKING, and also anti pollution warning lamp/warning, that is a triangle reddish/orange colour lamp ON dash-board warnings.
took to a peugoet dealer, did a diagnostic computer check and replaced supposedly DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SWITCH, where this is fitted unknown to me, charged me £141.
when i collected car, the faults still existed, dealer told me to fill tank full with diesel, then drive car for speeds 60-70 for 30-60 minutes on motorway and this should reset system, clear message and switch lamp off.
this did not happen, filled tank full 3 times and done same speed test and drove for 90-120 minutes, still did not clear fault.
took car back to dealer for another check, now they say, ADVISED REPLACEMENT PARTICLE FILTER REQUIRED £697.69.
so any ideas of free help on what do check myself or do, i hate to be robbed by a dealer with might be this and might be that, when maybe they is an more cheaper and sensible approach to fix my problems?

just put redx in your tank and the anti pol fault will go away on long drives carbon builds up on the sensor this cleans it off

My 307 has been used as a shed in my garden for the last 2 years, and I have got to say as sheds go it's none too shabby. The best thing is only 2 more years of payments (£200 p/m) and it's mine all mine....

The anti pollution fault came on the other day and it made me worried again. However, when I took the car to the motorway and stayed on 3rd gear and 3000revs for a few minutes the turbo kicked in and the fault dissapeared...very weird!!

Hi I have the same problem and took it to dealer who said it needed a new sensor for the particle filter at a cost of £160 as it would need to be reset?

Hi there, i had a peugeot 307 110 hdi sw and i had the same problem but some times when the antipollution light going on, on the same time goes on the ESP/ASR light and the gas is blocking to 1100 revs. i checked the tank of particulare filter it haves a little bit. Thanks

Hi, I live in Prague and yesterday the "anti-pollution fault" sensor came on on my 307 HDi 136bhp. The drive seemed fine this morning and when I took it to Peugeot late today they told me that the engine thermostate is gone and need replacing?? - quoted £170 for parts and work.
Any ideas?

Their is an extra tank at side of deisel tank this holds 6litres of substance called syrum it is injected in to the particle filter at set intervals to burn any debris collected in the partcle filter and keep it clean the syrum is good for about 72000 miles then tank needs refilling that is what the warning is and why the engine management light is on if left unfilled the partcle filter blocks up causing the vehicle to restrict revs to 2500 if left the partcle filter will need replacing / cleaning replacements are around £600 so its advised to get the syrum refilled usually at a dealer at around £30 per litre hope this helps

hello mate i have exactly the same fault with my 307 d turbo it is in the same situation has no power it will not go above 2500 revs if i find out i will let you know or if you find out will you let me know my phone number is 07912984375 called simon i am getting codes read today but when i had them read the other day it came up as the front fuel sensor but i was also told that there is another tank next to the fuel tank that has a special liquid on these models for the fuel something that goes to the injectors to keep them clean the dealers is the only place you can get this topped up and it is 138 all in and been told ths would bring light on thanks try help me if you find out first thanks

No way to diagnose this one without been put on a code reader there is loads of possible faults with this engine management system from turbo faults to particle filter problems etc.........

i have the same problem on my 206 so went to a peugeot dealership and they said it was a faulty speed sensor... They said it costs around £40-£50 for the part.
