The door will not open on my Hotpoint Aquarius 1200 washer dryer?

First you have to unplug the washing machine, then you need to remove the top cover, there are three screws at the back of the machine's top cover once you have done this you then are going to have to squeeze your arm down the inside of the machine, so facing the machine and pushing the drum away from you squeeze your right arm down the front right hand side just level with the door handle only inside, you will feel a square block that is roughly level with the outside door handle, on this block there is a lever that will open the door, you then need to basically just try and pull the lever upwards with your fingers and this will trip the latch on the door.

Make sure the machine is unplugged safety first
