Can you give us a bit more info.
Which light? Engine management, oil pressure, emissions, brakes, alternator, service etc..
Check in your owners handbook.
Does the light stay on all the time or does it only come on under certain conditions, e.g. when the engine is hot or when accelerating hard?
When it is on is it flashing or steady?
Does the engine drive and/or sound the same as before?
Although it's more satisfying -and, of course, cheaper- to fix things yourself be aware that using the car with any warning light on can cause irreparable damage.
If you need to get the car back on the road quickly it may be faster, simpler and ultimately cheaper to take the car to a garage and have it checked.
