Mend Hotpoint HDV6 Tumble Dryer Start Timer

how to fix my hdv6 tumble dryer?

i press start and it just buzzes if i turn the timer round it some times goes while holding in start button what could the problem be

Hotpoint Hotpoint HDV6 Household Appliances, Tumble Dryers Tumble Dryer Start Timer

It could be (a) The contacts on the timer failing to close properly - maybe they are burnt ? (b) The buzzing might be the motor not having enough volts ( see above) or the motor carbon brushes need replacing.
Check the drive belt and drum for free movement.
