i have a bernina artista 640 and i am having a problem with the tension on the embroidery carriage . ie too much of the upper thread is showing undeneath the fabric

Hello Gillian,
Try and adjust the screw on the bobbin case anti clockwise about a quarter of a turn, you should just be able to pull the thread through with some resistence, top tension between 4 and 6.
