Mend Epson RX420 Paper Jam Printer

Epson RX420 shows paper jam but is clear of paper?

The printer tried to pick up paper but stops, then error message appears stating there is a paper jam.
How do I fix the printer?

I tried all the above but none of them worked. In desperation, I disconnected all the cables, turned the printer upside down and banged the near left-hand corner, firmly but gently, twice on the floor.

Brutal though it sounds, this treatment cured the problem.

Ive read about feeding a 2 inch slip of paper down the left hand side whilst pressing the "start b&W" button. That worked for me once. But hoovering out the printer worked last time and its down to using cheap paper that sheds dust.

This happened mine too and this worked: Tear a strip of a4 about 2-3" wide and push it down the feed bit over the top of the little black thing on the left side. Then press the third button from the bottom. This fed this piece of paper through and cleared the problem. Hope this works for you.
