Multi region DVD player not displaying colour?

Hi folks,
I've just purchased a Toshiba multi region SD330 DVD player. For Region 2 DVDs it plays fine ... no problems, but for Region 1 DVDs it plays in black and white.

Would anybody have any ideas on how to resolve this?

This one crops up with pioneers from time to time, try the Svhs connection (through the scart lead) and make sure your TV is compatible and switched over to the S input (easy peasy for most makes) No logical explination for this but it works

either that or use an ntsc tv - pal is european and ntsc is american - this could be a problem also if you have pirate dvds

its no doubt made for region 2 ,
change the setting in menu
pal/ntsc

i forget now which is which for each region ,as i have had a few to drink ..
but this usally shoots the ball in the net ..
