i can hear a tapping noise in the engine when i accelerate in my vauxhall zafira

Take the auxilary drive belt off (fan belt) and run the engine ,if the noise stops its your alternator or you tensioner
( like mine :-( ) is the prob. A quick spray of wd40 on the tensioner wheel bearing should tell u if its the prob ( it will make it quieter 4 a bit )
