Mend Mercedes-Benz 308 Sprinter Van Fault Engine

Mercedes 308 sprinter wont start?

Hi, great van but an ignition fault thats reoccured and now wont start at all. The engine management light remains on and wont go out. replaced the glow plug relay. Messed with the door switch a couple of times that worked but now doesnt. diconnected battery a thousand times to. no joy. Seems like the soilinoid on the injecter pump wont work because of the security system? But which is it? help please. Dave

Hi there I have sprinter van 2000 its good engine but stitt last week temperature go on 80 and then suddenly EDC on and van losing power and engine is stopped but after few minutes its working again and after five six minutes its doing same problem but I give my van to garage and he said fuel pressure sensor and injector is no good but injector didn't making any noise can u please give me advice why my van doing this problem many thanks

does the van turn over? ive got a 308 CDI and was driving down the road, EDC light came on and engine cut out and wouldnt start. put it on diagnostics and it mentioned fuel cut off. changed the fuel cut off solenoid, but now i cant get it to fire. before going on diagnostics i cracked the nut off the injector rail but it was only dribbling out so it could just have air in the system but its driving me mad hoping that i dont have to replace the pump. check that you have diesel going to the injectors, if not check the solenoid, i picked one up for £20 out the back of autotrader. if thats not the problem does your van have an immobilizer?

could be that, mine did have one but it seems to have been bypassed, could be a common fault on them, not sure. anyway try checking the fuel at the injectors. post back on here when you have tried that :)
