Mend Hotpoint WF240 Bearings Drum Repair

hotpoint aqurius WF 240?

my machine sounds like a jet engine taking off when it spins, is it the bearings ?? i have been told new drum and bearings and rod if it is, at a cost of £180 !!!!!

it may not be the bearings , it could be something as simple as a bra bone or something caught in between the tub and drum, to test if it is your bearings grab the bottom of the drum by the lip where it meets the door seal and see if there is any movement up and down if there is no play then the chances are its not your bearing ,
