First be sure the water to the D/W is turned on and there is water getting to the valve. (you can crack the fitting attached to the valve, if water begins to spurt out it's ok). Next you will need a volt/ohmeter to test the vave solenoid. Remove the two wires attached to the valve and place meter probes on each pin on the valve. You should get a reading if it's ok. If you don't have a meter attach the two wires you took off of the valve and place them together. Turn the D/W on and listen closely for the sound of water entering the machine. Be sure to open the door if you do to stop the water from coming in or you'll end up with flood. If valve solenoid is bad one screw will remove it and you can take it to an appliance parts dealer and have it replaced. Hope this helps.
