Mend Janome 1017 Machine Pick Bottom

my machine wnt pick up the bottmo thread? is it the timing?

my janome 1017 wont pick up the bottom thread when sewing? but it will pick it up when i turn the wheel to thread it...iv tried everything :-(..is it the timing??? and if so how do i change it?
