Replacing drive belt on Sears Craftsman II?

The drive belt (v-belt, part # 131006) broke. The model # for the mower is 917.254860. This is the upper belt. I have purchased the replacement belt, but I cannot put my hands on the manual that came with the mower. Can you give me detailed instructions? Thanks, Bill

Try this! Go to www.sears.com look under lawn mower parts and see if there isn't a place to order your operators manual there. Most times they will send one out free of charge. This manual is very important as it will tell you everything about the mower and a section on how to repair and replace your mower's belts. Good luck!
