my engine light stays on my fiat punto 1.28v 2000 and wont go off?

how do i get the engine light to go out on my dashboard on a 2000 fiat punto 1.28v engine?

we have done this and there was nothing wrong,do you know how much it cost to have this done? we do and its not cheap,you should not have to go through this for stupid or no reasons.Peaple should be told how to reset what ever has to be reset instead of getting ripped off.

yer i agree, it could be anything.. a slight missfire. but i've heard you can get summate off 'e b a y', for a punto and it switchs that light off. normally when the gurentee subsides the fiat garage is suppost to switch it off.

Hi Robert, the only way to put the light out is to connect the car to a diagnostic code reader to find the fault, then have it corrected then you can reset the engine ECU's memory and this will put out the light
