How can I fix Zanussi ZWF 1621 W?

Hi ck,
When power is applied to machine with programme selected away from zero the green start light flashes continuously. As
soon as you press the start/pause button the green start light
stays on (not flashing ) and the green washing light comes on, the outlet pump then runs for about a second. No red light appears at any time!

if you start it and leave it doing nothing the start button should start to flash red.count how many flashes it does and post as this will tell me what it is protesting about
