Mend AEG 72620 Washing Aeg Filter

Washing machine will not run?

When I start the machine it sounds as if it is about to fill with water. After about 45 seconds it stops, after about one minute a code flashes 'CE' This code in does not appear in my manual. I have checked the water inlet and filter, these are clear of any obstructions. the machine is only 5 years old.
Model is AEG OKO -Lavamat 72620. Purchased in January 2000.
Can anyone help?

there is a small motor in the dispencer that selects the compartment to fill this operates a small micro-switch if this has not been activated within 2 mins "CE" flashes up. check that the motor and swich are working ok
