If you mean she has deleted the recovery partition on the hard drive, the only way to recover it will be from the recovery disks supplied with the PC. You may be able to download a recovery utility from the Compaq web site (not checked this).

usually most computers have an f key button you can press on start-up to re-install/recover you operating system
