how do you unlock HS 531v vcr?

i pushed record on m vcr as i record alot of tv programs and when i went to stop recording my vcr was locked and wouldnt let me turn it off or anything i have had it 4 many years and havent had a problem b4 i unpluged it and pluged back in but it just stopped recording and is still locked how do i unlock it i dont no my code and it wont let me enter anything
