Mend Hitachi VT430E Door Opens Appears

How can I fix my Hitachi VT430E?

The tape will not eject. When the eject button is pressed the door opens but the tape appears to be ejecting but then disappears back into the machine. I have tried unplugging the machine for a minute to reset the CPU to no effect. Any suggestions please?

Hi,

Try and eject it it and when the tape is at the position where it would normally come out....turn the power off. It should then be fairly easy to prise out, it is possibly being held back by a label or something. Once it's out the mechanism should reset when you turn the power back on.
