My flymo compact 330 is very nosiy?

My Flymo Roller Compact 4000 is also very noisy and it vibrates a great deal. My dealer says it is the drive assembly bearings that have worn out. A relacement drive assembly costs about £15 . However I can see my drive assembly but I cannot get it out. I think that as well as removing the 4 screws that secure it to the chassis it is necessary to remove the top part of the mower panel and I cannot see how this can be done . I have posted a question to see if anyone else has any ideas.

Hi, my Flymo 330 Compact has also just started to make a noise as well and I also think it is brushes.
When the mowere is disassembled and running I can see sparks flying from the brushes ans also smoke!

How long should new brushes be in length?
