Mend Hotpoint WMA62 Washing Machine Front Panel

How can I change the filter for a Hotpoint WMA62?

There are two screws at the bottom and two when you open the door. Do I need to take off the whole front including the door to get to the filter?

do not need to change filter,
you need to clean it out,filter is located inside the large black hose attached to the bottom of the outer drum remove the rear lower panel to access squeeze the lugs together to open the clamp (be prepared for water spillage)
