How can I fix my Noisy Treadmill?

I have a nordic track c2000 treadmill and it is noisy. The sound is coming from when my foot hits the belt while running. It is quiet when no one is on it but it seems like when ever there is the pressure coming from pressure applied against the deck and belt that is rubs and produces noise that seems too loud to get a comfortable work out. Is it a bad belt? Does the deck need some sort of lubrication? Does the deck need an adjustment? I am pretty technical and would like to fix this problem myself if possible. What suggestions do you have to offer?
