2000 Honda Accord constant noise - what's wrong?

Hello,

My 2000 V-6 Honda Accord is making a constant noise from the moment I start the engine...before shifting to drive. It just started recently, so i took it to a mechanic. They replaced the water pump, timing belt...anything to do with the timing belt. I picked it up yesterday, and it's still making that constant noise. It does sound like it's coming from the area of the timing belt. The noise fluctuates a little when the gears shift. Please let me know what you think before this mechanic changes something else that doesn't fix the problem. I have 97,000 miles and never had a noise or problem until now...

Thanks!
Melissa

bg is correct. Also, try issolating the problem first by taking a length of hose and while engine is running CAREFULLY direct one end of hose to a `suspect`part eg; alternator, powersteering pump, idler pully, ect, and offer up the other end of hose to your ear,if located, the sound of the`suspect`will be amplified and the source isolated.

Sounds like you have a recourse on who ever worked on it didn`t fix the problem eh>?
Sometimes it is a problem with eleminating noise on some cars but not to the point where you are throwing good money to bad.......be reasonable and make some type of agrement that the parts they replaced did need to be replaced but it didn`t fix the problem you were complaining about
If they are good people they will make some type of adjustment on bill .....you pay for parts and they eat labor or vise versa .....if not find another shop and put them in small claims court !!!!!!!!!!!!!! yep it will work
