ford fiesta p reg ,gear sticks in 1st and reverse?

Evening all, its only happerning when i just started it ,not every time but sometimes........ 3 tmes a weekish it sticks in 1st or reverse i put the handbrake on turn off the engine then release my foot from the clutch ,the clutch pedal seems soft takes couple of seconds then the cluch feels normal on the foot so i push down on the clutch get the gear back to neughtol then start the car ,into 1st nicely but the steering then feels alot softer on the wheel like i have power steering ;)when i really dont :( does anyone know what could be going wrong pls?
