john deere model 68 rear engine riding mower!?

i just bought a john deere model 68 rider the wiring is all jacked up i have been trying to find some wiring schematics with no luck. the model number on the motor {briggs and stratton} 19170 type 242601 code 88092009 any help with this would be very helpful. I think it was built around 1976.

my 68 mower will go forward and back properly and then just stop moving. After moving the tractor around it will work again. any sugestions?

I also would like a wiring diagram for JD68. I can not believe that JD does not have info on service on these older mowers. Thanks!

for a fuel tank take one off another riding mower or push mower make sure the hose will work with whatever gas tank you use.

Good luck, my John Deere model 68 is only good as a yard ornament now because I cannot find a fuel tank.

got to this address and type in the model number (68)
and from there you should be able to find the wiring harness. Hope this Helps.

I have an old 68 rider, can send you a schemadic drawing via snail mail. I by passed the seat safety device when I recovered the seat.
