Zanussi Dishwasher Water softener kaput?

Zanussi Dishwasher model DE 6554

Water softener is full of dishwasher salt which it does not use and fails to soften the water ........hence all the glasses come out a mess of limescale film on them

Rinse aid etc is kept full
Have tried using dishwasher cleaner which helps for a day or 2 but then its back to square one

Zanussi Zanussi DE 6554 Kitchen Appliances, Dishwashers Dishwasher Water Model

replace the watersoftner or try using 3 in 1 tablets as these have softner built in so you dont need to use the watersoftner at all.if your water is very hard tablets might no be a good fix but worth a try based on cost if you ask me.
