how do you change to the chuck bit where the chuck key goes in , the teeth are a bit worn , hope you understand my question yours Joe cheers

This may work - put the chuck key in place, then give it a sharp rap with a hammer - if its the threaded type it should shock free. Failing that, open the chuck wide and look inside - is there a screw visible?
