How can I fix 8mm camcorder -damaged by condensation?

Can anyone provide any advice on how to repair the following camcorder, please.

Camcorder was in sub zero temperatures (skiing) for a day and then brought indoors. It then mangled a tape when I tried to play it and will not play tapes properly since then. Also, the battery pack (which has not been charged for a couple of years) is making the charger display an unusual flashing red light when it is put on charge –does this mean the battery is U/S as well?
