MY FORD ESCORT 1600 WONT START?

MY ESCORT 1600 HAS HAD A NEW BATTERY, ALTERNATOR AND ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT, WILL START ON THE FIRST JUMP BUT NOT ON ITS OWN - ANY IDEAS?

Ford Ford Escort 1600 Vehicles, Cars Ford Escort Battery

If by Jump start you mean Tow start it may be your starter motor or the connections to it they are famouse for corroding and causing just the symptoms you are deacribing
Don't just have a quick look disconnect the battery and take the connections off and make sure I have seen them look great but when removed they just pull out of the terminals
