When I First Start the engine the revs go up to 4000 then go down to 750(normal) after engine warm it seems as though the choke is stuck until warm Renault Scenic 1600 petrol W reg (2000)

You can't adjust it in theory as it's a sealed unit what has happened is it is getting stuck on high revs a sharp tap with a hamer will reset it usually but long term you need a new one

Hi Steve, there is no automatic choke as such, the idle speed is controled by the ECU adjusting the idle control valve based on the info from various sensors on the engine
