central locking system citreon xantia 1997 diesel?

The cenral locking system on my citreon xantia 1997 diesel estate has developed a life of its own and constantly clicks on and off, whether the ignition is on or off. I have been told its something to do with the solonoid!!!I want to disengage the central locking and lock the car manually, how do I do this? I think the fault is coming from the backdoor.

Yours hopefully, Another useless woman driver.xx

Your lock is sticking on drivers door a common fault on xantias (I've driven a few cuse I love 'em) but the lock system is prone to this fault. Take the fuse out close and open manually until you can get it seen to.
Hope this helps

Hi

I had the same fault. I looked in the handbook and removed the fuse that sits under the dash (driver side, lower right). You have to remove the fuse panel to access the fuses. The fuse number on my model is f27. Please check your handbook to confirm this. The central locking should now be de activated. (Please note the fuel filler cap no longer locks!)

I hope this helps
