escort 1.8 diesel van?

Hi,i have managed to cure my fault,it was the 'turbo boost diaphragm' it causes excess fuel to enter the inlet manifold,you can check if this is the problem by disconnecting the rubber connector hose which runs to by the turbo,blank it off on the injection pump with a little bit of rubber hose with a bolt? plugging the other end up,if this cures the high revving it is the turbo boost diaphragm,they can be changed in situe without removing the pump

Hi i have had a simular experience with a 97 Escort TD with an Endura engine fitted,it will tick over & rev up to 2000rpm normally but after that it revs right up to the maximum revs & it can only be stopped by turning off the key,i suspect i have an internal injection pump problem as a simular thing happened a few years ago with a Maestro Prima Diesel it just jammed open to maximum revs,i enquired about that one at a diesel injection specialist & he said it was an internal broken spring that was causing the problem,does anyone know where on the internet i can find injection pump part number details & what will fit what?

check all them things no leaks etc just started it ran fine then started to build up revs on its own so i took it round the block and the revs went back to normal got it on the drive and it started to rev high again just come in now and revs are normal again thanks

Can you check a couple of things? 1) Is the oil level too high 2) Is there any sign of fuel leaks out, maybe causing air leaks in 3) Is the plastic linkage on the top of the injection pump disconnected?
