It goes together quite easily. The first thing you should know is the power plug is held together by both the vacuum tube and bottom half of the case. The plug should be fitted to the lower section (the dark gray part) and it fits in such a way that the plug 's electrical ends (the two brass pieces) are NOT protruding out of the case. The motor slides between two rails on the lower half and the belt is fitted around the end. The brush assembly and belt fit together inside the two holding mounts near the front of the lower half. The brush appears to be symetrical and it does not seem to matter what end the belt goes on nor is there a "top" or bottom" of the brush.
The hose fitting tube is the piece that goes between the vacuum hose and the brush area. This is where the debris from vacuuming goes through. One end is round with a hole in the middle of the tube (about a 1/4" of an inch in diameter) and that parts goes towards the end of the power unit AND with the hole faced up. without any sort of fuss it will slide into the area next to the motor.and this part holds the power plug in place. Place the tool release button on top of the hole so that when depressed it will allow the tool to be removed from the end of the vacuum cleaner.
On the lower half at the front, there are two small holders that hook the top part of the case tom the lower case. These two "clips" or holders keep the front top half the case from falling off. Hook the top part over these two clips and then carefully guide the rest onto the power unit. The unit will close without and force. If it does not check the tool release button. to make user that it is in the correct holder.
Replace both screws and you should be done!
