Mend Bathroom Appliances, Baths and Showers

my shower water pressure is terrible?

I basically have to run around in the shower to get wet. The taps to the bath have an aerator in the nozzle and the pressure is terrific (shower under bath) but the basin taps also have an aerator in the nozzle but again the water pressure is terrible. I have taken the shower head off the pipe from the wall and cleaned it but this has made no difference. I am an absolute beginner at plumbing and husband is away for work conference. Have just managed to fix dribbling toilet bowl using this site so thought I'd have a go at asking for help. All of the fittings are on the same wall with the bath nozzle the lowest, then the basin and the shower highest on wall (approx total space b'ween all nozzles height wise would only be about 3 feet. Can anyone help or does this sound like something that would be better looked at by someone with more knowledge than me? Will put kids to bed now and then come back to see if anyone can help so if you have q's for me please be patient. Thanks in advance

first what type boiler do you have ? combi etc.
if you shut your mains water stopcock useally under kitchen sink. you will stop the kitchen cold water.

does that also stop your bath, basin taps running or do you still get a flow from either the hot/cold or both ?

does your shower hose come off the top of your bath taps or a mixer control on the wall ?

Trev, Sorry about that but I did not know how much room I was going to be able to type my question into.

Okay - I have a shower over the bath situation with the bath taps below the shower taps. In the bath tap nozzle we have an aerator disc and the water pressure is terrific but the shower head pressure is horrible (I am presuming they are on the same plumbing line)

Next to - and on the same wall - the shower and bath we have the basin. This tap also has an aerator disc in the nozzle and also has terrible water pressure. (again i am presuming that they are all on the same pipe line)

The total distance height wise between all of the outlets is approx 3 feet. The bath taps are the lowest on the wall, then the basin taps and then the shower head.

Why are the shower head and the basin so terrible when the bath pressure is terrific?

I have removed the shower head from the pipe wall outlet and checked that this isn't blocked and have also cleaned the actual shower head but this has made no difference.

Absolute beginner with any plumbing but will give it a go if you have any ideas that may be of help.

Hope that this has been more explanatory, with thanks for even looking at the question, Laurie
