How do I replace the starter pulley kit on a Craftsman chainsaw?
I have the replacement parts to replace the starter pulley kit for my Craftsman chainsaw but am not sure how to keep the tension on the spring starter when replacing the pulley.
When I have done this on other recoil starters I have used a "G" clamp across the unit. This keeps the winder in place whilst you remove the cord. Having replaced the cord and removed the clamp if it does not recoil fully just give it one more turn. Hope this helps, but make your own decision.
