my dad did the rear pads on my 307cc and he has always done repairs etc on all our family/friends vehicles and after changing the pads and put everything as it should be he bled the system and put new brake fluid in and aplied the hand brake a cople of times and pumped the brakes a couple of times aswell to get any air out of the system( even the front brakes) but for some reason the brakes now will not work, my dad seems to think it maybe a sensor that needs restting but we arent sure how we would do this, can anyone help

If you are going to change your rear brake pads on your 307 you will need a special winding in tool. I tryed applying pressure and turning it with a pair of mole grips but failed, also there is a chance of damaging the rubber seal. With the correct tool it takes less than half an hour. Once changed then apply the hand brake two or three times and the self adjuster will take ip the slack.. GOOD LUCK...

Hi Andy, replacing brake pads is quite involved and potentially dangerous if it goes wrong.
My advice, get a garage to do it.
If your set on DIY, buy a haynes manual, read the hazards section, use ONLY the correct tools, have the correct spares ready before you start and be prepared for the car to be off the road for a few hours.
I have done 100+ brake pads over the years, I have hundreds of tools and I still find myself borrowing the girlfriends car to go buy more tools and other spares that I didn't realise were broken until I take the wheel off. Good luck.
Kind Regards,
Simon.

Friendly Simon.
