I followed the advice on here, and yes it's a bit tricky getting the belt on but I did it. Switched it back on and it's working fine but I'm now waiting for the belt to snap like everyone elses seems to have done.

Just finished fitting the belt on my tumbler. Followed Craigs instructions (after trying to work it out myself - had back off and everything). Worked a treat. Tip - if you have a small child handy, get them to lean on the drum while u fit the belt - simple. Have 3 spare screws left but I don't think they are important!

O.M.G that was a teadious job first tip dont mix the screws up i found that the belt would not go on unless the front of the drum was floating loosely and then push the drum back and down over a small plastic lip on the air intake from bottom that extra half inch makes all the difference...then gently run a small flat screwdriver round the small wheel to get belt on... then turn the drum by hand slowly to make sure it stays on put it back together job done BEST OF LUCK

Craigs advice worked a treat.
I am abit annoyed though - there were no £20 or £5 notes in my machine!!

Thanks Craig - used your instructions & got the job done with minimum of fuss. Actually found £20 & £5 notes lodged in the dryer hose which offset (with profit!) the cost of the new belt - BONUS!

just replaced belt and working ok, now i know how an olympian feels after winning gold
take lid off,,,, undo all of front (leave wires attached),,,, undo sides (take screws out of left and right sides approx 10 screws at back),,,,place belt round drum near mark left by old one,,,, lean on front of drum to lower drum to the motor spindle,,,,,,pushing hard down on drum will bend the drum on the inside as it touches the motor housing (don't worry it bends back),,,,,,,you should then have the drum close enough to the spindle to lever the belt over by hand,,,,,pull drum back up,,,,,rotate by hand to let the belt self align,,,,shouldn't come off spindle if you put it on with 3-4 grooves spare,,,,,, do back up (10 screws),,,,put front back on and pull drum onto the lip on the front of the frame,,,,may be a bit noisier until belt beds itself in,,,,,,
hope this helps, if not got an engineer to do it last time and it cost me £48 (belt was £13 so £35 labour), watch him like a hawk and then you know for next time

Put the new belt over the drum first then over the motor, using a screwdriver to lever it on, After I needed a fag and a nice pint of cold stella artois as i am now shattered.

Sharon Selby,
Did you find out where those wires go? i did the same, the wires where that short that when i took the front off to change the belt the wires came off the times switch, now dont have a clue where they go.

Thanks

hi i've just changed the belt on my dryer,i had to take the sides and front down so i could fit it and i put it on the drum first then the moter then pulled it down as the belts tight, but watch your wires as i now have two loose, you may be able to help the wires attach to the timer and it's a red one with a white end and a white with pale pink stripe with a white end can you see where they go.
