1997 ford escort wont start?

i have a 1997 ford escort that wont start i get all the lights on the bashboard come on but when you turn the key to start the car you get nothing i have changed the starter motor but dont know where to go from there please help.

try looking at the earths it sounds like thats your prob theres 5 that go to the battery
