Well,, although I posted this last night when I was it the end of any logical thoughts! i spoke with vauxhall this morning..got some help. It seems there is an alarm on the battery that goes off when low!! seems strange... and basically the battery was flat but stil had enough charge to do some weird things..so the moral of teh story is...if your corsa will not lock, when you use the central locking the passenger door lock opens, and when you do get in and try and start it you get a rattling rather than an engine turnover...it is the battery....jump started it this morning all ok!!!! Strangest thing I have ever seen.....
