Mend Toyota RS2000 SA63 Replace Spring Help Tension

Can i buy or replace the check spring for my toyota RS2000 HELP!!!!?

The check spring or tension spring in my toyota rs2000 SA63 has snapped! I phoned a local haberdashery who said i need a new machine as you cant buy the spring individually. It comes of really easily though, and looks like a part that would be replaced easily. But i can't find the part anywhere!!!

Please help!!!!

Hello Evette,
You can get the springs from most sewing machine retailers, it does not have to be a Toyota spring, lots of springs fit lots of models, ideally if you can take the spring out which is quite simple and take it to a sewing machine shop if you have one near you and match it up, or if you can take a photo of it and e-mail it to www.tandtrepair.com he may be able to match it with a Singer or www.sewingonline.co.uk/instructions and do the same.
