Mend Vauxhall Corsa 1.5TD Glow Plugs Engine Starting

P reg Corsa 1.5TD Engine Not Firing?

hi, i have purchased a corsa and i was aware that the car had the problem but i thought i may be able to solve by changing the glow plugs.. however after changin glow plugs the car still does not start. the only way i can start it is if i get someone to tow the car forward and start it that way or start it by pushing it.. if i switch the engine off and try starting it again straight away then it starts but if i leave it overnight then it doesnt start so i have to push start it again.. can any1 please help me...??

when i turn the ignition then the engine turns but does not fire up.

how do you set the valve clearances please?

same prpolem cured ,your plugs are fine BUT you may have 1 or 2 relays down or a fuse or a combination of all check as follows
get 2ft of 6mm elec cable and bare the ends, very carefully place one end on glow plug and one end onto battry live for 10 seconds one at a time and do all 4 quick as you can ( ignition off while doingb this)turn ignition fully to start if starts then you have no power to glowplugs via ignition you have a faulty 70 amp relay or 20 or 30 amp blade fuse blown or both.
fuses by drivers wheel on rhs botm row 3rd from lft fuse, relay is bhind cover by bonnett release its yellow 70 amp and there is a smaller black relayin front of it which is also relevant
if you notice before doing this that the glow plug lamp does go out very quicly then its faulty relay however this will probably of blown the blade fuse as well

your valve clearances have closed try having it shimmed up im on my 8th engine i know them like back of my hand now

You have probibly got a glow plug problem did you check to make sure you have got 12 volts gioing to the glow plugs dose the glow plug light come on then go out after a short time.
Check glow plug fuse/wiring and relay
