VW ran perfectly for weeks but every so often failed to start. Does not fire at all (not even a cough!) Plenty of fuel and had been running perfectly till then.
The van is a 1998 diesel vw Caddy with a normally aspirated engine. 48KW output I think....1900cc?

The engine starts best from cold normally. Can be a slow starter when hot or warm ( left for a half hour or so after a run)
I think the glow plugs are working ok.

Hi, May not be related but I had to manually wire the cold start plugs on mine ? Is it always from cold that it won't start?
