Mondeo gearbox 1st gear gone?

hi i had the same problem as i was selecting first gear my foot slipped off the cluch pedal as the gear shift was half in gear and as a result could not select first gear anymore. i stripped the gearbox down and found that the dog tooth on first gear had sheered. i found it cheeper to replace the gearbox with a second hand one from a scrap yard. good luck Alex D
