Mend Tanks Hot Water

what system do you have?

Do you have an open vented system ( two tanks in the loft and a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard) or a sealed system ( combi boiler no tanks)???????

Two tanks in the loft, and a separate copper cylinder. Mind you, if I was building my house again I would use a modern combi boiler, no question......just my opinion though.
