how can i fix my dishwasher?

It's either a problem with the cycle timer itself or, more likely, we're waiting for something to happen... like the water heating up (this happened to mine recently!).
I've got some electro mechanical skills so was able to take the front "skirt" off - not easy in itself. The timer is lower left and has an indicator to show which stage of the cycle it's in. There was a circuit diagram taped to the top of my machine so I was able to work out what the timer was waiting on. (water coming to the right temperature). I thought maybe the heater element had failed but there are two thermostats either side of the heater, one of which has a reset button. Which I reset and away it went again.
Bottom line - you need to be able to work out where the machine has stopped in the cycle. Like, open the door and if it's full of cold water then it might be waiting on the heater working...
