ford escort 1.8 diesel van 2000?

how does the window winder come off,is it held on by a screw or is straight forward push on pull off handle.there doesn't seem to be a push on cap on the handle

horseshoe shaped clip behind handle that holds it to winder shaft, if you bend a split pin at right angle-about 1/8" you will be able to pull clip out, take care not to loose it!
